International Potluck Day

Here is a fun Social Studies event that involves Geography and Diverse Cultures. Please select a country and bring a dish that is popular from that country. Please bring a recipe copy of the dish you're bringing so those with food allergies know which foods they can enjoy.

If you wish to make it more educational and share more information about your chosen country, have your children make a posterboard or tri-fold presentation that contains the capital of that country, major religions. traditional customs, economies, natural wonders, and/or natural resources, for examples.

 Other ideas include presenting souvenirs, crafts, currencies, jewelries, costumes, toys, or other items from that country.  You can dress in the country's traditional garb. You can read aloud a poem in the country's native language.  You can play a folk song or perform a folk dance from that country. All ages are welcome.  Family members are welcome.   Veteran…
