About the event
The museum's exhibits provide a range of topics, from the early settlement days to the town's oil boom days in the 1930s and beyond. One notable exhibit features Elvis Presley, who performed in Gladewater early in his career. Other exhibits explore local history through photographs and artifacts, the Gladewater Bears baseball team, the purchases of land, World War II, The Texas Rangers, and more fascinating facts. The museum also has a Rodeo Annex dedicated to the history of the annual Gladewater Round-Up Rodeo, which began in 1938.
Admission is free, but they do ask for donations. I need to give them a headcount a week before our tour so they can arrange enough docents for our group. After the museum tour is over, you can check out their museum shop. You can also check out other Gladewater establishments there. There is the Gladewater Bookstore, which is under new ownership …
